One Vanderbilt in Midtown Manhattan was designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox for developer SL Green Realty, which hired the firm in November 2012. Groundbreaking was on October 18, 2016, the tower topped out on September 17, 2019, and it opened on September 14, 2020. The infobox lists a Futurist style, and the text names none.
The roof is 1,301 feet (397 m) and the spire 1,401 feet (427 m). The article gives 62 floors but says other sources count 59. Severud Associates was structural engineer, and the facade combines glass curtain wall with terracotta spandrels. A tuned mass damper of roughly 500 to 520 short tons steadies the tower.
Its wedge-shaped base and a 4,000-square-foot (370 m²) transit hall connect to Grand Central and the subway. TD Bank anchors the offices. The Summit One Vanderbilt observation deck, with interiors by Snøhetta, opened on October 21, 2021 on floors 91 to 93.
