Oaxaca Cathedral is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Antequera, Oaxaca. Construction began in 1535 according to the text, though the infobox gives 1573. The cathedral was installed in 1640, when the diocese seat moved to Our Lady of the Assumption. The most recent reconstruction ran from 1702 to 1733, and it was consecrated on July 12, 1733. Earthquakes in the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries led to repeated rebuilding.

The facade is green cantera stone and faces south. The infobox lists the style as Baroque, while the interior is described as Neoclassical. A clock in the south wing was donated by King Fernando VII. A locally built Baroque organ stands on the west wall of the quire, restored in 1997.

The towers are not the originals, which were destroyed in the 1931 earthquake.
