The Nusretiye Mosque in Istanbul was designed by Krikor Balyan, the first major imperial work by his family of Armenian-Ottoman architects, for Sultan Mahmud II. The infobox gives 1822 to 1826. The lead says 1823 to 1826 while a later section says 1822 to 1826, and the article does not reconcile them.
The infobox lists Ottoman Baroque and Neoclassical, and some sources call it Empire style. Wood was used instead of stone for elements such as stairs, and vaults are used extensively. The mosque is small, with tall proportions and slender minarets.
The name commemorates Mahmud II's victory over the Janissaries in 1826. It replaced a barracks built by Selim III that the Janissaries had destroyed. The Tophane Clock Tower was built nearby between 1835 and 1839. The article gives no hours.
