The North Dakota State Capitol is an Art Deco tower at 600 East Boulevard Avenue in Bismarck. It was completed in 1934 and is the tallest habitable building in the state. The architects Joseph Bell DeRemer and William F. Kurke worked with the Chicago firm Holabird and Root. Groundbreaking took place on August 13, 1932, after a fire destroyed the original capitol in 1930.

The artist Edgar Miller designed much of the interior and the bas-reliefs on the façade. Key features include an observation deck on the 18th floor and the Judicial Wing of 1981.

The capitol and its campus of about 160 acres house the legislative and judicial branches and the office of the governor.
