The New Taipei City Art Museum stands in Yingge beside the Dahan River, reached from Yingge station by a short footbridge. Kris Yao | Artech won the 2014 international competition, with Kengo Kuma placing second, and the museum was completed in October 2023 for the city's Cultural Affairs Department.
An eight-story rectangular volume stacks the galleries, while a ground-level village of low studio structures holds shops and a restaurant. The facade is made of aluminum tubes of varying lengths that shade the building. Vierendeel trusses and diagonal bracing leave galleries 72 feet (22 meters) wide without columns.
The building totals about 351,000 square feet (32,600 square meters). Three levels below the studio village hold a lecture hall, a children's museum, art storage and public parking.
