The New Century Global Center in Tianfu New Area, Chengdu, is a mixed-use complex. The article names no architect, though it notes the site faces a contemporary arts center by Zaha Hadid. Billionaire Deng Hong's Entertainment and Travel Group developed it. Construction began in 2010. The infobox lists a July 1, 2013 opening, but the text says it slipped to August 22.

The building is 328 feet (100 m) tall on a base of 500 by 400 meters, with 1,700,000 square meters of floor area. That makes it the third-largest building by floor area in the world. It holds offices, a university complex, hotels, a Mediterranean village, an IMAX cinema and a water park with a 5,000-square-meter beach.

Cost estimates run from $8 to $10 billion. Dozens of local officials were detained during overlapping investigations, which delayed and scaled back the opening.
