The Naval Academy Mürwik in Flensburg was designed by Adalbert Kelm and ordered by Kaiser Wilhelm II. The academy was established at the site in 1910, replacing the Imperial Naval Academy in Kiel. The article gives no construction dates.

The style is Gothic, intended to imitate the Ordensburg Marienburg castle, which was founded in 1274. The building is predominantly red brick, on a small hill directly by the coast overlooking the Flensburg Firth.

In 1920 a British regiment, the Sherwood Foresters, was garrisoned here to supervise the Schleswig plebiscites. In 1945 Grand Admiral Karl Dönitz set up the Flensburg government in its sports school, which served as the de facto capital for nearly twenty days. It remains the main training establishment for German Navy officers. The article gives no public access.
