The National Gallery of Australia in Canberra was designed by Colin Madigan of Edwards Madigan Torzillo and Partners, with brief input from James Johnson Sweeney and James Mollison. The Australian Government is the client. The infobox gives 1967 as the establishment year, while the text says construction began in 1973 and Queen Elizabeth II officially opened the building in 1982.

The article describes late 20th-century Brutalism with angular masses and a triangular geometry. It is reinforced bush-hammered concrete, and interior walls were later covered in painted wood. The floor space is 23,000 square meters, and the cost was 82 million dollars.

A temporary exhibition extension followed in 1997, and an Indigenous galleries and entrance project in 2010. Lindy Lee's Ouroboros sculpture was unveiled in 2024. It is Australia's national art museum, directed by Nick Mitzevich. The article gives no hours or ticket details.
