The Musée du Quai Branly in Paris was designed by Jean Nouvel, who won an international competition in 1999, for the French state under President Jacques Chirac. Gilles Clément designed the gardens, and Patrick Blanc created the green wall. The infobox gives 2006 as established, but the text says the museum was officially established in December 1998. Construction began in early 2001 and finished in 2005, and the museum opened to the public on June 23, 2006.
