The Munch Museum in Bjørvika, Oslo, stands next to the Oslo Opera House. Juan Herreros of estudio Herreros won the 2009 competition for it. Oslo City Council cancelled the project in December 2011 and revived it in May 2013. Construction started in September 2015, and King Harald V opened the museum on October 22, 2021. The article names no style, materials or dimensions, and calls the design widely criticized.

The museum is dedicated to Edvard Munch and holds almost 28,000 artworks, including The Scream, Madonna and The Sick Child. It also shows contemporary art and international exhibitions. It typically has five Munch collection exhibitions at once, plus a research library and a conservation department.

The original museum opened at Tøyen in 1963. Armed robbers stole The Scream and Madonna there on August 22, 2004, and police recovered them in 2006. The new museum drew 775,000 visitors in 2025. The article gives no hours.
