The McCormick Tribune Campus Center stands on the Illinois Institute of Technology campus in Chicago. Rem Koolhaas of OMA won an international competition to design it, with Holabird & Root on structure. It was his first building in the United States. Design began in 1997 and it opened on September 30, 2003. The article names no style and no client, though the university is implied.

The one-story building has about 110,000 square feet (10,000 m²). A stainless steel tube 530 feet (160 m) long encloses the Green Line tracks above it. Diagonal passageways inside follow the paths students walk, and a link joins it to the 1953 Mies van der Rohe Commons.

The budget rose from 5 million to 8 million. It holds dining, a mail room and student offices. Student reception was lukewarm, with noise a problem. The article gives no hours.
