Mamilla Mall is an open-air shopping street in West Jerusalem, running between Jaffa Road and Yitzhak Kariv Street, perpendicular to the Old City walls. Moshe Safdie designed it for Alrov Properties and Lodgings of Tel Aviv. Construction began in 1997, and it opened in stages in 2007–2008, after decades of delay from opposition and litigation. The 2,000-foot (610 m) pedestrian promenade is lined by buildings of three to six stories built of masonry block with many arches. Nineteenth-century facades from the original Mamilla Street, including Stern House, where Theodor Herzl stayed in 1898, were dismantled and reassembled. Two older buildings, Clark House and the Convent of St. Vincent de Paul, stayed in place.
It sits above a six-story garage and has about 140 stores, restaurants and cafés. The article gives no hours.
