The Ludwigskirche in Munich was designed by Friedrich von Gärtner for King Ludwig I of Bavaria. The infobox and text agree on construction from 1829 to 1844. The article calls the style Neo-Romanesque, in the round-arched Rundbogenstil. It names no building materials.

The church is 197 feet (60 m) long and 66 feet (20 m) wide, and its towers are 233 feet (71 m) high, each with six bells. Peter von Cornelius painted the frescoes, including a Last Judgment of 62 by 38 feet. The king rejected the work, and Cornelius left Munich soon after. Ludwig von Schwanthaler designed the sculpture of the four Evangelists with Christ.

The roof was re-covered with the originally planned mosaic in 2007 to 2009. Romano Guardini's remains were moved there in 1997. The article says it served as a model for churches in Vienna and the United States. It gives no hours.
