The London Aquatics Centre in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park was designed by Zaha Hadid, with Arup as structural engineer. Hadid revised the design in December 2005 after estimated costs doubled from £75 million. Balfour Beatty won the contract in April 2008, and the work was completed in July 2011 at £269 million. It opened to the public on March 1, 2014. The article names no client or style, and describes a wave-like roof.

The structure is 148 feet (45 m) high, 525 feet (160 m) long and 262 feet (80 m) wide. It has a 50-meter competition pool, a 50-meter warm-up pool and a diving pool. Materials include exposed precast concrete, a Kalzip aluminum roof and a ceiling of 30,000 sections of Red Louro timber.

Temporary wings raised capacity to 17,500 for the Games and were later removed. Everyone Active operates it.
