Limoges Cathedral's architect is unknown, though the article says it was likely Jean de Deschamps. Bishop Aymeric de la Serre proposed the Gothic rebuild but died in 1272, and the first stone of the chevet was laid in June 1273. The infobox and text agree it was completed in 1888, after work resumed in 1876.
The article calls the style largely Rayonnant Gothic, with Flamboyant elements on the transept facade. The bell tower is 203 feet (62 m) high. It dates the Portal of Saint John to both 1516 to 1541 and 1516 to 1530.
Lightning struck the spire in 1571, and a terrorist device damaged over 3,000 pieces of stained glass in 2005. It is the seat of the Bishop of Limoges. The crypt was not open as of 2024, and the article gives no hours.
