The Liberation War Museum stands in the Sher-e Bangla Nagar Civic Centre at Agargaon, Dhaka. Tanzim Hasan Salim and Naheed Farzana won first prize in a 2009 architectural contest to design it. Land in Agargaon was acquired in 2013 and construction then began, and the new building opened on April 16, 2017. The article gives no completion date, style or materials, and does not name the client.

It has 3,500 square meters of gallery space. The new building provides much more space than the original premises, which could display only a fraction of the museum's artifacts.

The article does not describe the interior beyond this, so its form and structure are not covered here.
