The Laboe Naval Memorial was designed by Gustav August Munzer. The text says it was started in 1927 and completed in 1936, and the infobox gives only the 1936 unveiling. The article names no client, but the Deutscher Marinebund was responsible for its preservation. It names no materials. Guides link the form to a Viking longship stem or a submarine conning tower.
The tower is 236 feet (72 m) high, 103 feet (31.5 m) long and 45 feet (13.8 m) wide. The observation deck is 279 feet (85 m) above sea level. The site has a hall of remembrance and the submarine U-995, which houses a technical museum.
It honored First World War navy dead, with Second World War dead added after 1945. The Royal Navy took over in 1945, and in 1954 it returned to the Marinebund and was rededicated to sailors of all nationalities lost at sea. The article gives no hours.
