The Kyushu National Museum in Dazaifu was designed by Kiyonori Kikutake. The article names no client, saying only that it opened in 2005 as part of the IAI National Museum. The infobox gives only the October 16, 2005 opening. The text says construction began in 2001 and was completed in 2003, but also says the building was completed in 2004.

The article names no formal style and describes a distinct modern impression, a striking wood and glass building in the hills. It gives no dimensions. Dazaifu was named the site in 1995, next to Dazaifu Tenman-gū.

Temporary exhibitions are on the third floor and the permanent collection on the fourth. It covers Kyushu history from prehistory to the Meiji era, with emphasis on exchange with China and Korea. Conservation labs serve as the major center for western Japan. The article gives no hours.
