The Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park stands in downtown Accra on the former British colonial polo grounds. Dr. E. G. A. Don Arthur designed the original, and Bethel Maphrey led the 2023 redesign. The article does not name an owner. It was established on July 1, 1992, closed on May 28, 2022 for renovation and reopened on July 4, 2023, when President Akufo-Addo commissioned the renovated museum.
The park covers five acres. The memorial is meant to represent an upside-down sword, which in Akan culture symbolizes peace. Italian marble clads and floors the building, a black star sits at its apex and river-washed rocks and a skylight add detail.
It includes a presidential library, reception facility, amphitheatre, restaurant, museum and gift shop, surrounded by water. The article names no style and gives no hours or fees.
