The Kunsthaus Graz was designed by Colin Fournier and Sir Peter Cook and inaugurated in 2003, as part of Graz's year as European Capital of Culture. The infobox and text both call the style blob architecture, and the building is nicknamed the Friendly Alien. The article names no client.

The skin is iridescent blue acrylic panels that double as photovoltaic panels, and the eastern side carries a BIX acrylic glass facade. The BIX media facade has 930 individually adjustable fluorescent lamps and runs at 20 frames per second. The building incorporates the facade of the iron-framed Iron House of 1848.

The museum has no permanent exhibition or collection and stages temporary shows of modern and contemporary art from the 1960s onward. The BIX concept entered MoMA's permanent Architecture and Design Collection in 2011. The article gives no hours, admission or dimensions.
