Knowlton Hall is the home of the Austin E. Knowlton School of Architecture at Ohio State University in Columbus. Mack Scogin and Merrill Elam designed it, with landscape work by Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates. Donor Austin E. Knowlton, a 1931 graduate, gave $10 million to launch the project. Groundbreaking was on April 5, 2002, and the building opened in September 2004. It cost $33 million and has 165,000 square feet (15,300 square meters).

The building replaced Ives Hall, which was demolished in July 2002. The architects concluded that a new building would serve the school better than a renovation. A post-tensioned concrete and steel frame carries a skin of white Georgia marble shingles. The donor required the marble.

Inside are 45 studio spaces, 65 offices, a workshop, a 30,000-volume library and the Banvard Gallery. It won the 2010 AIA National Architecture Honor Award.
