KfW Westarkade is an office tower at Zeppelinallee 6 in Frankfurt's Westend district and the headquarters of KfW Bankengruppe. Sauerbruch Hutton and Theiss Planungsgesellschaft designed it. Werner Sobek was structural engineer and Züblin the main contractor. Construction began in 2007 after a former library was demolished, and it was completed in 2010. The article names no style or materials.
It is 197 feet (60.1 m) tall with 14 floors, 39,000 square meters of floor area and eight lifts. It gives offices to 700 people and has conference facilities. It extends a campus of KfW buildings from the 1970s to 1990s.
The design relies on natural ventilation, activated slabs and geothermal energy. Predicted primary energy use is under 90 kilowatt-hours per square meter a year. The CTBUH named it Best Tall Building Overall in 2011. The nearest stop is Bockenheimer Warte.
