The Center for Architecture and Environmental Design stands at 132 S. Lincoln Street in Kent, Ohio, along the Lefton Esplanade. WEISS/MANFREDI was lead designer after an international competition that began in 2012. Richard L. Bowen & Associates was architect of record, and Gilbane Building Company was construction manager. The grand opening was held on October 7, 2016.

The glass-and-brick building has 110,191 square feet (10,237 square meters), with 91,000 custom bricks from Belden Brick Company. Glass curtain walls bring in daylight, a partial green roof recycles rainwater, and 131 geothermal wells, each 405 feet (123 meters) deep, supply heating and cooling. It holds a LEED Platinum rating.

The architecture, architectural studies and interior design programs share the building. It has a cascading studio loft, a digital fabrication lab, a lighting lab, maker spaces and a materials library.
