The Kaufmann Desert House in Palm Springs was designed by Richard Neutra for Edgar J. Kaufmann Sr., owner of Kaufmann's department store in Pittsburgh, as a desert retreat. The infobox gives completion as 1946. The style is International Style, and the house covers about 3,200 square feet (300 m²).

It sat vacant after Kaufmann died in 1955, and later renovations enclosed a patio, altered the roofline and removed a wall. Brent and Beth Harris bought it in 1992 for $1.5 million, and a restoration by Marmol Radziner began in 1993. Restorers recreated the sheet-metal roof fascia and reopened a Utah quarry for matching stone.

The Harrises more than doubled the surrounding land and rebuilt a pool house as a viewing pavilion. A 2008 Christie's sale at $15 million fell through. It was listed again in 2020 at $25 million and sold in 2022, for $13 million in the text and $13.06 million in a cited source.
