The Karni Mata Temple at Deshnoke was completed in its current form in the early 20th century by Maharaja Ganga Singh of Bikaner, though the infobox gives 15th to 20th century. The style is listed as Rajput, and the article names no architect. The temple was constituted around 1530, after Karni Mata's death, and devotees added structures over the following centuries.

A marble facade stands in front of the temple. Ganga Singh built solid silver doors, and further silver doors across the doorway have panels depicting legends of the goddess. The inner sanctum was first covered by a dome. The article gives no building dimensions.

It is known for its rats, which the article places at thousands in one place and about 20,000 in another. The Shri Karani Mandir Nij Pranyas trust governs it, and Charan workers conduct rituals and care for the rats. It opens to the public at 4:00.
