The Kaohsiung Mosque at 11 Jianjun Road in Lingya District is a Sunni mosque built by Muslim nationalists who worked with the Kuomintang government. The article names no architect or style, and describes a three-story building with a large Middle Eastern vault, based on traditional Middle Eastern mosques. The infobox lists two minarets, marked maybe more.

The first mosque opened in 1949 on Wufu 4th Road, and the community moved to a building on Linsen 1st Road in 1951. After the old site was sold in October 1988, construction of the new mosque began on December 17, 1990. It was completed in late December 1991 for US$1.9 million and opened in April 1992.

The interior covers 28,600 square feet (2,657 m²). The ground floor holds dormitories and women's facilities, the second floor holds the main prayer hall and an Arabic study center, and the third floor has guest rooms and a youth center.
