KaDeWe in Berlin was designed by Emil Schaudt for Adolf Jandorf's firm, A. Jandorf & Co., with a GmbH founded for the store. Planning began in 1905. The infobox gives 1907 as the founding date, and the text says it opened on March 27, 1907. The first two floors reopened after the war in 1950, and full reconstruction was done by 1956.

The article names no style or materials. It had 24,000 square meters at opening, 44,000 after 1976 to 1978 and 60,000 by 1996.

Ownership passed to Hermann Tietz OHG in 1927. Under Nazi laws it was aryanized and renamed Hertie. A bomber crashed into it in 1944, causing a fire. Central Group acquired the KaDeWe Group in 2015, and the group filed for insolvency in January 2024. Central bought the building that April. It is a department store with eight floors and over 380,000 articles. The article gives no hours.
