The Jockey Club Innovation Tower at Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Hung Hom was designed by Zaha Hadid, whose firm won a 2007 competition. It is her first permanent work in Hong Kong. The university is the client, and the Hong Kong Jockey Club gave HK$249 million in 2011, when the tower was renamed.
The brief sought a beacon structure, and the design merges tower and podium into one fluid form. It is 249 feet (76 m) high. Floor area is 15,000 square meters in the infobox and about 12,000 of net operational floor area in the text. The article does not specify materials.
The infobox gives 2007 to 2014, and the text says completion was first expected by the end of 2011. A podium-level entrance opens to a foyer with shops, a cafeteria, a museum and an exhibition area. The tower houses the School of Design, with about 1,800 staff and students.
