The Ještěd Tower above Liberec was led by Karel Hubáček, with Zdeněk Patrman on structural statics and Otakar Binar on interiors. Restaurace Liberec and the Prague Radio Communications Administration commissioned it after a 1963 fire destroyed the earlier lodge. Construction ran from 1966 to 1973, and the infobox gives completion on July 9, 1973. The transmitter began on May 1, 1971.

The hyperboloid tower is 308 feet (94 m) tall and combines a mountaintop hotel with a TV transmitter. It uses reinforced concrete, steel floor structures, anodized aluminum panels and laminated cladding. Inner concrete cylinders are 14 and 41 feet (4.4 and 12.5 m) across.

A reconstruction came in 1997, national cultural monument status in 2006 and a UNESCO tentative listing in 2007. The cable car has been closed indefinitely since a 2021 crash. The article gives no hours.
