Jantar Mantar in Jaipur is an astronomical observatory built by the Rajput king Sawai Jai Singh, who founded the city. The infobox gives construction from 1728 to 1734, while the text says instrument construction continued until 1738. The article names no architect or style.

It has 19 instruments, including the Vrihat Samrat Yantra, 88 feet (27 m) high with its face angled at 27 degrees, described as the world's largest stone sundial. The instruments use local stone and marble with bronze tablets. The text says masons lacked experience at this scale, and foundation subsidence later misaligned some.

Restorations came in 1876 and 1901, and again in 2006, and an earlier phase turned the site into a gun factory. It was declared a national monument in 1948 and became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010. The site covers about 4.6 acres (1.87 hectares).
