Jamkaran Mosque is a Shia mosque and shrine in Jamkaran village, about 4 miles (6 km) east of Qom. The infobox dates it to 373 AH (983 or 984 CE), and tradition says Sheikh Hassan ibn Muthlih Jamkarani founded it after meeting the Twelfth Imam. Hasan bin Muslim, the landowner, is listed as funder. It was renovated in 1745 and in the 19th century, and an annex was added in the 1990s.
The mosque has five domes, tile work, courtyards and a main prayer hall with an iwan. A "well of requests" at the rear is where pilgrims tie strings to the grids. A separate women's area has its own well.
It was half-ruined in the late Qajar and early Pahlavi periods. Many Shia Muslims visit on Wednesday nights, and the kitchen serves a free meal to thousands of poor people on Tuesdays.
