Istanbul Modern is Turkey's first museum of modern and contemporary art. It opened in 2004 in a former customs warehouse converted by Tabanlıoğlu Architects, which was later demolished during the Galataport redevelopment. The museum is a private venture under a nonprofit foundation and grew from the Eczacıbaşı family collection. The article names no style.

The current building by Renzo Piano opened on May 4, 2023 inside Galataport. It has five stories and 113,000 square feet (10,500 m²). The facade uses 300 gray aluminum modules, concave and convex, with galvanized steel stairs and walkways. A rooftop terrace has a shallow reflection pool and views of the historic peninsula and Galata Tower.

It holds Turkish art from 1950 onward. It also has a cinema, a library and a restaurant. The article gives no hours or ticket prices.
