Istanbul Airport opened on October 29, 2018, replacing Atatürk Airport. Concept designers were Grimshaw, Nordic Office of Architecture and Haptic Architects. Scott Brownrigg led delivery. The State Airports Authority owns it, and IGA operates it under a 25-year lease won by a Turkish consortium. Groundbreaking was June 7, 2014. The article names no style.

The main terminal covers 1.44 million square meters, built for 90 million passengers a year. It has five concourses with 143 boarding bridges. The control tower is shaped like a tulip, Turkey's national flower. The site covers 7,600 hectares. The Ali Kuşçu Mosque there is reported as the first LEED Gold mosque.

It served 84.5 million passengers in 2025. The article records disputed worker deaths during construction. Metro line M11 serves it.
