Hudson Yards is a neighborhood on the West Side of Midtown Manhattan, roughly between 30th and 41st Streets, from the West Side Highway to Eighth Avenue. Kohn Pedersen Fox planned the redevelopment over the West Side Rail Yard, with 16 skyscrapers in two phases. Related Companies and Oxford Properties lead it. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, Thomas Heatherwick and Diller Scofidio + Renfro designed individual buildings.

The site covers about 28 acres (11 hectares). Groundbreaking for 10 Hudson Yards came on December 4, 2012, and that tower opened in 2016. The first phase opened on March 15, 2019. The western yard of phase two had not started by late 2022.

The development includes 30 Hudson Yards, the Shed, shops and restaurants, and Heatherwick's Vessel, a 16-story staircase structure in the central public square. It joins the High Line. The 7 subway extension to the 34th Street-Hudson Yards station opened on September 13, 2015.
