The Monastery of the Holy Trinity at Meteora stands 1,870 feet (570 m) above sea level, on cliffs of sandstone and conglomerate over 1,300 feet (400 m) high. Local legend says the monk Dometius arrived at the site in 1438. Many sources date construction to 1475 and 1476, while others say it is unknown, and the infobox gives completion as 1476. The article names no architect. The infobox lists the Athonite Byzantine style.
The church dates to the 14th and 15th centuries and has a cruciform plan with a dome on two columns, white columns and arches and rose-colored tiles. The skeuophylakion was added in 1684, the narthex vault in 1689 and the decoration in 1741. The summit garden covers 2.0 acres (0.8 ha).
Access is by a 1.9-mile (3 km) foot track from Kalambaka, a winch-operated lift or a road behind the cliff. It appeared in For Your Eyes Only in 1981.
