Hamad International Airport is Qatar's main airport, east of Doha on land half reclaimed from the sea. HOK designed the terminal and concourses, and Bechtel handled design, construction and project management. The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority owns it and Qatar Airways operates it. Planning began in 2003 and construction in 2005. Passenger operations began on April 30, 2014 after delays. The article names no style but describes an oasis theme with water motifs and wave-styled roofs.
The central concourse has a 10,000-square-meter indoor tropical garden called The Orchard and a 879-foot (268 m) water feature. A 5,000-square-meter mosque has a mushroom-shaped dome. Urs Fischer's seven-meter bronze Lamp Bear stands inside. Two runways serve it.
Doha Metro's Red Line links it to downtown. It handled 54.3 million passengers in 2025. Skytrax rated it the world's best airport in 2024.
