The Guthrie Theater at 818 South 2nd Street in Minneapolis was designed by Jean Nouvel with the Minneapolis firm Architectural Alliance. It replaced the original 1963 building by Ralph Rapson, which was named an endangered historic property in 2002 and demolished from late 2006. The new building cost $125 million, and its first production, The Great Gatsby, opened on July 15, 2006. The article names no style.

The building covers 285,000 square feet (26,500 m²). Exterior walls carry large panels with a photo mural. It holds the 1,100-seat Wurtele Thrust Stage, the 700-seat McGuire Proscenium Stage and the 199-seat Dowling Studio. The Endless Bridge cantilevers 178 feet (54 m) toward the Mississippi River.

The bridge is open to visitors during normal building hours. The theater won the Regional Theatre Tony Award in 1982. The article gives no ticket prices.
