The Großes Schauspielhaus was a revue theater in the Mitte district of Berlin, on the right bank of the Spree. Friedrich Hitzig designed the market hall of 1865 to 1867 in a loosely neoclassical style. Hans Poelzig remodeled it from 1918 in an Expressionist style, adding a dome and a ceiling of stalactite-like stucco.

Deutsches Nationaltheater AG, a company of Max Reinhardt, acquired the property in 1917. The theater opened in 1919 with a revolving stage, a cyclorama and an adjustable forestage.

In 1933 the German Labour Front took it over and stripped its Expressionist decoration. After 1945 it became a variety venue called the Friedrichstadt-Palast. It closed in 1980 and was demolished in 1985.
