The Grand Mosque of Constanța, called the Carol I Mosque, was commissioned by Romanian King Carol I in 1910. Victor Ștefănescu was chief architect, and the text names George Constantinescu as designer, while the infobox lists him as general contractor. The Romanian Government and the entrepreneur Ion Neculcea funded it. Groundbreaking was on June 24, 1910, and the king opened it on May 31, 1913. The text gives completion as 1912 and the infobox 1913.

The infobox lists Neo-Egyptian and Neo-Byzantine styles with Neo-Romanesque elements, and the text adds Neo-Moorish for the minaret. The mosque proper is brick and stone, and the dome and minaret are reinforced concrete, the first such structure in Romania. The minaret is 154 feet (47 m) high, and the inner dome is 82 feet (25 m) high and 26 feet (8 m) across.

It stands on the site of the Mahmudia Mosque of 1822.
