The Gordie Howe International Bridge crosses the Detroit River and links Detroit, Michigan, with Windsor, Ontario. Erik Behrens, chief bridge architect at AECOM, designed it. Canada and the State of Michigan own it jointly, and the Windsor–Detroit Bridge Authority maintains it. Construction began on July 17, 2018, and the article says the bridge opened to traffic on July 27, 2026.

It is a cable-stayed bridge built of steel from Canadian and American sources. The total length is 1.6 miles (2.5 kilometers), and the main span is 2,799 feet (853 meters). Two A-shaped towers rise 722 feet (220 meters) and carry 216 cable stays.

The bridge has six automotive lanes and a bicycle and walking path.
