The General Post Office in Dublin was designed by Francis Johnston. The article does not name a client as such, though it was the Post Office's headquarters and the infobox lists the Office of Public Works as owner. The foundation stone was laid on August 12, 1814, and it opened on January 6, 1818. The cost is 50,000 pounds in the infobox and 50,000 to 80,000 in the text.
The article calls the style Greek Revival and neoclassical, the last great Georgian public building in Dublin. The portico is Portland stone and the main building mountain granite. The front is 220 feet (67.1 m) long, and the portico has six fluted Ionic columns.
It was the headquarters of the 1916 Easter Rising leaders. A fire destroyed everything but the granite facade, and it was rebuilt in 1929. The GPO Witness History visitor center opened in 2016. The article gives no hours.
