The Freedom Tower stands at 600 Biscayne Boulevard in Miami, Florida, on the Wolfson Campus of Miami Dade College. Schultze & Weaver designed it. It was completed in 1925 as the headquarters and printing plant of The Miami News. It is a Spanish Renaissance Revival building, with design elements borrowed from the Giralda in Seville.
A cupola crowns the 255-foot (78 meter) tower, which once held a decorative beacon. In the 1960s the federal government used the building to process and assist Cuban refugees.
It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and became a National Historic Landmark in 2008. After it was donated to Miami Dade College it became a contemporary art museum and arts education center. It reopened on September 16, 2025, after a $25 million restoration.
