The Estrela Basilica in Lisbon was commissioned by Queen Maria I to fulfill a vow. Mateus Vicente de Oliveira began the work, and Reinaldo Manuel dos Santos completed it after Oliveira died in 1785. The infobox gives groundbreaking on October 24, 1779 and consecration on November 15, 1789. The text says the conventual areas were built from February 1778 to May 1781, which predates the groundbreaking, and it does not resolve the conflict.
The article calls the style Late Baroque and Neoclassical, similar to Mafra National Palace. Reinaldo Manuel changed the pediment, facade, bell towers and dome and added a roof lantern. The floors and walls use grey, pink and yellow marble. A nativity scene by Joaquim Machado de Castro has over 500 cork and terracotta figures, and Pompeo Batoni painted works inside.
Queen Maria's tomb is in the right transept. It is a minor basilica and remains active. The article gives no dimensions or hours.
