The Estádio Nacional Mané Garrincha stands in Brasília's Ayrton Senna Sports Complex. Ícaro de Castro Mello designed the original stadium, which was built from 1972 to 1974. The article gives three different original opening dates. A consortium of Andrade Gutierrez and Track Engineering rebuilt it from 2010, and it reopened on May 18, 2013. Terracap owns it.
The rebuild removed the lower tier, kept the upper tier and created a new rectangular bowl. A membrane roof lifted by cables went on in 2013. The pitch is natural grass and measures 105 by 68 meters. Capacity is 69,910 in the infobox and 72,788 in the text. The seats are red.
The stadium hosted the 2013 Confederations Cup, seven matches of the 2014 World Cup, the 2016 Olympics and the 2021 Copa América. Cost figures in the article conflict.
