Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul was designed by Zaha Hadid, with Samoo as co-designer in the text. The City of Seoul ran the design competition and set the master plan, and the article names no client. Construction began in 2009, and it was inaugurated on March 21, 2014.

The article calls the style neofuturistic, with powerful curving forms and a concept called Metonymic Landscape. The main building is 919 feet (280 m) long, with 86,575 square meters (932,000 sq ft) of floor area. Exterior materials are concrete, aluminum, steel and stone.

The site was a stadium from the Japanese colonial period, used until 2007, and excavated remains led to the Dongdaemun History & Culture Park. The plaza holds exhibition and conference halls, a design museum and a 24-hour design market. The Seoul Design Foundation operates it.
