Delft railway station in South Holland opened on February 28, 2015, with Francine Houben of Mecanoo as its architect. The article names no client, style or materials. The 1999 urban design plan was formulated by Joan Busquets, and the NS operates the station.
The station sits underground in a 2.3 km rail tunnel beneath the city center, with four tracks and two island platforms. The hall is integrated with municipal offices. The project also rebuilt the bus station with eight stands, improved the tram stops, and added parking for 8,700 bicycles, 5,000 of them underground. A map of Delft is shown on the ceiling.
The tunnel replaced an elevated double-track viaduct built from 1964, which was demolished in 2015. The first station opened on May 31, 1847, and a larger one by Christiaan Posthumus Meyjes Sr. opened in 1885. The old station has housed a restaurant since 2018.
