The DC Towers in Vienna were designed by Dominique Perrault with Hoffmann-Janz Architekten. Perrault won an international competition in 2002, and construction began on June 17, 2010. WED developed the site. Tower 1 is 722 feet (220 m) tall, or 820 feet (250 m) with its antenna, and has 60 floors. It is Austria's tallest skyscraper. The article names no style and describes a liquid facade inspired by the Danube.

About 32,000 square meters of insulating glass cover the facade, and 29 elevators serve the tower. A 305-tonne pendulum between floors 56 and 60 reduces sway. It earned LEED Platinum certification in January 2015.

Tower 1 and its hotel opened on February 26, 2014, and Deka Immobilien bought the tower in 2017. Hotel Meliá Vienna holds floors 1 to 15. Tower 2 is under construction.
