Dallas City Hall at 1500 Marilla Street was designed by I. M. Pei with Theodore Musho for the City of Dallas. Construction began on June 26, 1972. The building was accepted in December 1977, and it was formally dedicated on March 12, 1978. The article calls the style Modern and the material buff-colored concrete.

The seven-story inverted-pyramid building has a facade sloping at 34 degrees and a roof cantilever 200 feet (61 m) wide. The Great Court is about 250 feet (76 m) long, with a ceiling about 100 feet (30 m) high. Park Plaza has a 180-foot reflecting pool and Henry Moore's sculpture The Dallas Piece. It stood in for the OCP headquarters in the RoboCop films.

In fall 2025 the council reportedly considered demolition. The World Monuments Fund listed it as endangered in June 2026, and a lawsuit followed in September 2026.
