The Cristo del Pacífico, or Christ of the Pacific, is a statue of Jesus in Lima, Peru. It was erected in 2011. A consortium of Brazilian companies gave it to the city of Lima. It was described as a parting gift to the nation from President Alan García, who left office after the 2011 presidential election.
The statue is 121 feet (37 meters) tall, including its pedestal. Without the pedestal it measures 72 feet (22 meters). It was inspired by Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, which is larger. That statue stands 130 feet (39.6 meters) tall with its pedestal and 98 feet (30 meters) without it, so the Lima figure is the smaller of the two.
The sources do not name a sculptor or designer, and they give no materials, cost or visiting details. The architect, style and access entries here are assumptions, left open until another source confirms them. The gift and its date are well founded.
