The Colorado State Capitol in Denver was designed by Elijah E. Myers and is intentionally reminiscent of the U.S. Capitol. The article names no client. The infobox says built in 1901, but the text says it was constructed in the 1890s, opened in November 1894 and first hosted the General Assembly on January 2, 1895. The text does not explain 1901. The style is Neoclassical.
The exterior is about 24,000 tons of gray granite from the Aberdeen Quarry near Gunnison. The interior uses Colorado Rose Onyx and white Yule Marble floors. The main entrance hall rises 180 feet (55 m) to the top of the dome.
It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 as part of the Civic Center Historic District, which became a National Historic Landmark District in 2012. A safety upgrade by Fentress Architects, completed in 2009, added enclosed stair towers. The article gives no hours.
